fibro_witch is having to move into assisted living. While she still can, sort of, almost, live on her own, lupus only gets worse as it progresses, and she really ought to be in assisted living by the time that she CAN'T live on her own -- and who knows how long that will be.
The problem is her pets. She's an animal person, and she has a bunch of non-human family members who won't be able to come with her. She's able to take her keeshond, Byron, with her (he's JUST under the cutoff for weight that they allow for dogs), but can't take her rabbit, guinea pig, cat, or birds, and she's looking for good homes for all of them.
It's sad enough that the family's being split up -- the rabbit, peeg, cat, and dog are all good friends and play together -- the cat is actually Byron's cat more than he's fibro_witch's. But she's just physically not able to care for them the way they deserve, and therefore needs to find homes for them.
She's potentially found a home for the cockatiels, and she's talking to other folks about other members of her family. But I know that there are a good number of local bird people, guinea pig people, rabbit people, and cat people on my friends list.
