Well, this sucks.

Lis wanted one only thing for her birthday -- she wanted to spend the day on the water, somehow, doing some kind of boating.

Which would be easy. My grandfather has a boat, my father has a boat, should be easy.

And, when I called my uncle on Wednesday, he said that he was going to be taking Papa's sailboat out today, and that we should call in the morning to make plans.

So I did, and never got a call back.

So I've been calling my father and mother to see if we could borrow their boat. But they haven't returned my calls.

So I called the canoe rental place. But because I was trying to call my folks and my uncle and everyone, they're now rented out of canoes for the day.

So it looks like the one thing Lis was looking forward to for her birthday isn't going to happen. And she's got work stuff to do for tomorrow -- this was the only day she had.

And then things DON'T suck.

Not two minutes after I posted how we couldn't go out on the water, the phone rang, and it was my uncle saying that we should come over to go out on the boat.

So we did, and we had a wonderful time.
