desperance, your idea works. My Blue Blazer recipe works with absinthe, or, at least, with Absente, which is an absinthe substitute sans wormwood. Haven't tried it with the real stuff yet, 'cause I don't have the real stuff yet, but as it's now legal and available in the US, I soon will.
Yes, the flame is blue, not green, and, oddly, the final product isn't cloudy-white, but pale green and clear. With some of the alcohol burned off, it's smoother than a usual absinthe, but the fire caramelizes the sugar, so it's really quite nice.
I think I'll call it the "Blue Fairy."
