I'm doing post-trip laundry, now -- a little bit at a time; it'll be at least a week before I'm totally caught up.
The villa in Buchine had a washing machine, so we were able to do mid-trip laundry. The family bought detergent in the shop in Buchine (it's not like you would BRING a bottle of laundry detergent with you on vacation, even if you COULD.) Mom looked for fragrance-free detergents, but couldn't find any (Buchine is a pretty small village, after all -- it's not like the stores have a huge selection. Except of fresh foods -- they do have a huge selection of locally-grown produce, locally-cured meats, locally-produced cheese, and the like. But not of laundry detergent. So I did laundry using laundry soap with fragrance in it.
I just threw some of it through the washing machine at home, and it came out STILL smelling like the perfume in the laundry detergent in Buchine.
Does anyone know how long I'm going to have to deal with this scent before it FINALLY goes away?
