"Kids, you've tried your best and failed
miserably. The lesson is, never try." You
used to have a goal, a dream. But somewhere
along the way, you failed at acheiving this.
Now, you don't even try anymore. You've most
likely given up on things you once loved. While
this attitude can prevent failure from
occuring, it doesn't help you acheive your
dreams either. Realize that all dreams aren't
impossible, and that life is what you make of
it.

Driving home from the gym, I passed a Papa Gino's (a New England chain of Italian restaurants/pizza parlors -- there's like 180 of them within New England) and was struck with a sudden desire for Bad Pasta. Cheap, fast-food spaghetti, like you get at Papa Gino's, or Sbarro.

But I didn't want to PAY someone to make bad spaghetti for me.

So I made it myself.

I undercooked some spaghetti, and poured a can of Hunt's Tomato Sauce on it, with cheap pre-grated cheese, and an Italian Herb Seasoning mix we had lying around.

It was perfect. Exactly what I wanted.

I can make bad food. Go me!

Grover Norquist's K Street Project is how he's tracking which lobbyists give how much money to Republicans and to Democrats.

His stated goal is to punish lobbyists who give money to Democrats: he wants to get every dime of lobbyist money into Republican pockets. He's been trying to turn this into a one-party country for several years now. As it is, something like 2/3 of the corporate money goes into Republican pockets already, but Norquist wants it all.

It occurred to me that this is potentially argument against the Naderites' "Well, BOTH parties are just in the pockets of Big Business."

No, no they're not. Norquist is doing his damnedest to make sure that the Democrats are not in the pockets of ANY corporate interests. Think about it.

I was playing a midi thing from technomidi.com -- Lis was playing an audio file of an Ari Fleisher press conference.

Ari's lies and evasions sound a LOT better with a good techno beat behind them.
