I got my first cavity.
Jun. 12th, 2003 08:49 pmHad a dentist's appointment today; found out the reason that one of my teeth's been hurting was that there was a hole decayed in it.
You have to understand what a huge trauma this is for me: I've always prided myself on my excellent oral hygene. My grandfather, who is the dentist we saw today, is a former editor of the New England Journal of Dentistry. My uncle is in practice with him; his son is at dental school now. My mother was trained as a dental hygenist.
So this sucks. I had a hole drilled in the posterior side of my upper right second molar, and had it filled with silver. Yay anethstetic, it didn't hurt at all to have it done, including the initial injection of the anethstetic (my Papa is actually a rather skilled dentist, and can give injections with no pain). Of course, now that the novacaine's worn off, it's sore.
