Is there any Latin root more versatile than "-ject"?

Reject -- throw back
Deject -- throw down
Project -- throw forward
Subject -- throw under
Conjecture -- thing thrown together
Abject -- throw away
Inject -- throw in
Eject -- throw out
Object -- throw against

I dunno. My brain just asks these things sometimes.
