I disagree with you about the virtue of the more liberal interpretation of the commerce clause that has had increasing sway since approximately the end of WWII. Although you are correct that it's the justification for the supposed constitutionality of things that you support such as the regulatory authority of OSHA and the ability for there to be, for example, an enforceable federal minimum wage, it is also the justification for the supposed constitutionality of other things which I would imagine we both abhor, such as the federal war on (some) drugs.
