Yeah. Okay. I'm just gonna put this whole thing behind an LJ-cut, because it's kinda disturbing.

So, there's this incredibly disturbing photo floating about the internet called Goatse. I'm not linking to it; I don't suggest you do; just know it's a gross photo.

So, Adrian Chen decided to figure out who the guy in the photo was; he wrote it up in an article on Gawker:

So, it turns out the mystery man's name is Kirk Johnson.

Here's the thing.

In Questionable Content #1829, Martin's mom recognizes the guy in the photo as "Kirk."

I thought I'd heard that Jeph just made up the name.

But he was right.

Did he know something we don't?

Well, the article says that Johnson (ahem) has been rumored to be the Goatse for years, so he could easily have heard of him previously.
