I'm not like that, either. I find that taking notes helps concentrate my mind. Although sometimes it's sooooo great a lecture that I want to write everything down, and that's tough. But I've had practice, actually, at taking notes and learning... and it's fun. Plus I get more pieces of paper to clutter up my apartment afterwards!
