One could, actually, have an entertaining and educational time discussing the ramifications of the agreement.

By which I mean... let me give an example. I've spent the last 14 years (ye Gods, eek) discussing slightly controversial interests online with like-minded fellow fans thereof. Whether the subject be polyamory, cooking meat, fanfiction, whatever, every so often someone who thinks the entire concept is morally wrong drops by to play, and it's exhausting and annoying to deal with one more iteration of Why We Shouldn't Be Doing This, especially when they claim that we just want to censor disagreement. Well, no; we want to discuss how to manage our time or get a good sear on steak or keep our characters recognizeable or whatever, rather than have yet another debate over something we've taken as a given, the validity of our shared activity.

(That said, if I refused to talk to anyone I disagreed with I wouldn't be posting this, would I? :D)
