Another vignette, Lis and me

LIS: I think I'm going to be stupid, and wear sandals today.
IAN: No, you're not.
LIS: Just for on the plane. Why not?
IAN: First, it'll just be one more thing to keep track of. So, you should. . . .
LIS: [looking past me, out the window] AAAIGGH!
IAN: [looks out the window. It's snowing.] See? That's a good reason not to wear sandals.
LIS: It's . . . snowing. . . it's not even November. . .
IAN: [to the window] Okay, you can stop now; we've convinced her not to wear sandals! Really. Now you can stop. Okay, now. . .
LIS: I think I'm going to be stupid, and wear sandals today.
